The MusA (Musical Analyser) application draws spectrogram of sound in logarithmic frequency scale. Distances of every two consecutive semitones are thus the same. The overlapping scale consists of lines of three shades of gray, from the lightest: C tones, other white piano keys, black keys. It can process sound files or directly sound from microphone.
The results of Fourier transform of different parameters are composed together to achieve the same frequency and time resolution irrespective of tone pitch.
The limits of drawing area can be set in all three dimensions:
- number of drawn columns per second around current position,
- the lowest and highest shown tone,
- gain and signal to noise ratio in dB.
The application was tested on Linux and Windows.
